State Refugee Director Mette Brogden Talked at TASWI
The guest of the TASWI Speaker Series was Mette Brogden, State Refugee Coordinator of Wisconsin. The title of her talk was “Refugee Odysseys”. Brogden gave statistical numbers regarding all refugee issues in the world and then talked about refugee policies in US and Wisconsin. She talked about the discrepancies regarding the news in the media and reality regarding Syrian refugee issues and stated As Wisconsin, we will continue receiving refugees from all around the world including Syria. In 2016, 1500 refugees will come to Wisconsin. And of these, approximately 1200 will come to Milwaukee. Her talk was followed by questions and answer sessions from the audience. The program ended by a small gift presentation to Mette Brogden from TASWI outreach coordinator.
